Oil sputter is going to be a normal thing if the oil cap is not on while the engine is running. The engine should never be run with the oil cap open. The engine actually has less compression when the oil cap is open, and this could hurt the engine.
The engine oil could splash out of the oil fill hole.
its loose
Excessive blow-by (a tired engine) and/or the PCV system is not functioning correctly. Also, check the condition of the gasket under the oil fill cap.
its supposed to theres nothing wrong with it
could it be pressure on tank due to unvented gas cap? try running with vented cap.
You probably have a cracked engine block and engine coolant is mixing with engine oil.
I was taught that removing the oil cap while the engine is running was a bad idea. But I would suggest you call the service manager at the dealership for your car and ask them.
on the right side of the motor there is a cap with twwo bolts take that off and theres th oil filter it will have a oil line running to it
You will have dirty oil running through your engine until the light comes on again for an oil change.
Not necessarily. If the oil filler cap wasn't on tight it could have just vibrated off. If the cap is not on the filler tube it will blow oil out of the tube with a good running engine. I would refill the oil, tighten the cap, clean up the oil spill and try the mower again to see what happens. Chances are everything will be fine.
It should written in your car manual which comes with each car or on the top of oil cap.
