I would say air in the line, or you need a new clutch
My 94 Pontiac grand am se quad 4 the clutch is real loose and 1st gear is slipping
Noise from floor on 96 Nissan Maxima could be as a result of poor shifting. This often occurs when you use the wrong gear oil.
it might be the slave cylinder
Either have air in your lines or you might need a new clutch plate.
Your best bet would be to have a qualified mechanic look at it. The there are any specific symptoms that you are experiencing, be sure to add what's wrong with it to your question!
You're low on fluid more than likely. Add some brake fluid (that is what it uses) to the maste cylinder for the clutch. I have to do the same thing today-my dads a mechanic of 25 years so I tend to listen to him. The Mastercylinder will be located next to the firewall (the wall between the cab and the engine) on the driver's side next to the brake master cylinder. You wont need much fluid but this should fix the problem. Check it and the slave cylinder for leaks. If any are found you may need to replace one or both. Cost of both parts is about $65. (20 for one 45 for the other) Level of skill needed-If you can change your oil you can do this. If still unsure, look for a vid on youtube or howcast. Good luck.
You may need to adjust your clutch or replace your clutch.
Possibly the clutch was installed facing the wrong way, or the clutch has not had enough time to properly seat.
There is no tightening. It is hydraulic and self-adjusting. If you have little or no clutch, you need a new clutch or something is wrong in the hydraulics.
Best way is to just float the gears - shift without using the clutch. However, if you do this wrong, you'll destroy your transmission. If you use the clutch when shifting, firstly, you double clutch - try shifting it like a car transmission, and you destroy the transmission. If you don't know how to do this, go to a truck driving school. When you shift, only push in the clutch far enough to disengage the transmission - don't go all the way to the floor with it, or else you'll wear out the clutch break. Don't roll out of gear with the clutch depressed.
A Saturn clutch is self adjusting. It's a hydraulic system and if the clutch is not adjusting properly it indicates that there is something wrong with the clutch mechanism, either clutch disk, pressure plate or hydraulic components.
