Ok first of all, NEVER put dish soap in either the dishwasher or laundry machine! It both ends up as a disaster that costs you a fortune, I know by experience... It reall depends on what dish detergent and soap detergent you use. The liquid soaps would make more bubbles faster, but the amount really depends on your brands. I use sunlight 2x ultra laundry detergent and Cascade stain fighter + Dawn. The sunlight makes more bubbles.
soap you use to wash youre dishes when you need to
dawn.
by dawn the dishes are gone
Dawn Dish soap my hypothesis was correct about dawn dish detergent
this wont help you fix the current problem but one way to keep it from happening is to not use dish detergent... Make sure to use dishwashing liquid specifically designed for dishwashers... no suds

Any name brand eg, Electra Sol, Galgon, etc. You must buy a detergent specially made for dishwashers. Normal detergent will froth up too much and spill out onto the floor. the secret to buying detergent is to buy the smallest box available becaus once opened oxygen contacts dishwasher detergent and makes it less effective. And even more important in places where your water is hard use Jet-Dri for spotless glasses and silverware. Also as noted above make sure the box says for dishwashers . In35 years Ihave only seen it twice that a customer put dish detergent like Dawn in the soap cup, but what a mess it made and if it should happen to you put a couple of drops of fabric softener in the soapy water and run it for a minute the soap will disapate then run a light cycle with vinegar in wash tub.
dawn dishwashing detergent......
