What is wrong with asking someone to provide you with the answers for your homework or classroom tests?

First of all, someone giving you the answers to a test is cheating. It is not fair to those students who had to take the test first hour and didn't get the extra help. Second of all, students are in school to learn. If they are getting the answers without doing their own work, they are not learning anything. That, believe it or not, can lead to regrets later in life when a person has not learned what they should have learned.

No, a purpose of homework is to help students learn the lessons. Not only is looking up the answers for homework not cheating, it is what you should do when you do not know the answer. Math homework is an exception to this. It is okay when doing math homework to look up how to do problems or to ask someone for a example, but it is not okay to simply look up the answers to specific problems, which definitely would be cheating.

No. There are literally thousands of homework questions asked on here every day . Of course, homework is supposed to be done by the pupil - not by someone else !

So if someone is getting the answers from someone else in any way, Then YES THATS CHEATING, YOURSELF!~ You are cheating yourself out of quality education. The purpose of classroom quizzes and exams is to help you find your strong and weak points whereas the purpose of homework is for you to apply your time to researching correct answers. I would hardly qualify paying someone for answers as researching - I would certainly categorize it as cheating ON YOURSELF. Another opinion: If you use an online tutor to help you learn how to pay someone to do your homework, it is the same as getting any other kind of teacher, and is not cheating. If you just get the tutor to tell you the answers and don't try to learn, then it is cheating.
