Some people object to the use of a tree in church for several reasons: # the practice of celebrating Christmas is not in the Bible. # the practice of bringing an evergreen tree indoors and decorating it began with the pagans worshipping mother earth. # North American culture has so secularized Christmas that the tree, presents, Santa Claus, etc. can distract from the worship of Christ or the 'real meaning' of Christmas.
