If the rpm's are erratic it could be the throttle position sensor. It is a cheap and easy repair.

Well, I have had mine for about 2 years, put 30K miles on it and have never had any problems with the engine. And of the forums that I am on, I have never heard of anyone having issues with the new HEMIs that weren't caused by their own stupidity.
