What is wrong your hermit was doing fine climbing the log drinking water and going abt but today he is on his side not moving at all he is not hidden in his shell just sitting out not moving at all?

Pick up the crab, if it droops out of its shell kind of it probably molted and that is its exoskeleton and it is just a hollow discard. Look behind it and the actual crab will be there. Wait a couple days, keep giving it food and water but if you eventually start to smell a strong fishy odor the crab has died. Its probably just a molt.
