XML Schema is an XML-based alternative to DTD.An XML schema describes the structure of an XML document. The XML Schema language is also referred to as XML Schema Definition (XSD).An XML schema is a description of a type of XML document, typically expressed in terms of constraints on the structure and content of documents of that type, above and beyond the basic syntactical constraints imposed by XML itself.
An xml schema is bassically a blueprint for your xml file, the schema details the content and structure of your xml file including dictataing the nodes and elements including child elements that are to be included in your xml file.
An XML Schema describes the structure of an XML document, a bit like a map or blueprint of your xml, what can and cant go in and where. See link for a full explanation and examples.

An xsd is used in an xml schema as a blueprint to define what can and cannot be included in an xml file.
An XML schema is a certain type of XML document. It is expressed in constraints, on top of the normal XML constraints, on the structure and content of documents of that type.
An xml is normally validated against an xml schema, the schema is the rulebook that defines what can and connot be included in your xml file. You can also use xml validation software which will check and validate your xml, that sit is correct in terms of syntax etc and then check it agianst yuour schema.
XML schema is used to define the structure, content, and data types within an XML document. It helps enforce rules for validating data in XML files, ensuring that they conform to a specific format. By using XML schema, developers can establish standards for data exchange and communication between different systems.
Currently, twelve different XML Schema languages exist. All twelve languages are used exclusively in XML Schema, which is a special kind of XML document. XML documents are documents formatted in a way that allows both humans and machines to understand easily.
That depends on what you want to do, xml tools include; xml parsers xml validators xml editors xml schema editors xml code generators
An xml schema is written using the syntax and specifications of xml.
Well-formed XML means that the XML is correct (it has only one root node, and all elements match an end element tag)Valid XML means that the XML can be validated to an XML Schema or DTD, and that all the tags in the XML are also in the Schema or DTD, and in the right place.
an xml schema is a blueprint for your xml file and it dictates what can and cannot be in your xml file. it also is a blueprint as i said and so it outlines the tsructure of your file, the nodes, elements, child, attributes etc
XML Schemas ensure that data can be communicated in a format that is universal. For example, different countries use different formats to display the date. Some countries put the month first, others put the day first, and some put the year first. The XML Schema for date requires that all dates be in YYYY-MM-DD format. Thus, everyone viewing XML data knows what the data is because they know it is written in XML Schema. XML Schema has a lot of built-in data types for defining data. To define data, XML Schema uses attributes. XML Schema attributes are somewhat similar to HTML attributes in that they are included within a tag, and the attribute further defines the tag. With HTML, an image tag would have a source attribute to provide the name of the file that contains the image to be displayed. Another example of an HTML attribute would be an alignment attribute within a paragraph tag that stipulates whether the paragraph should be aligned to the left or right. Examples of XML Schema attributes for describing data are string, decimal, boolean, integer, date, and time. One of the most important features of XML Schema is that it is replete with many different built-in restrictions that can be imposed on all data so that data is consistently displayed a certain way or presented in a certain format. Using XML Schema restrictions, a programmer can impose limits on upper or lower bounds for ranges of numbers, the length of numbers or the length of lists of items, and XML Schemas can even be used to define how white space is handled (tabs, line feeds, etc.).
A PDP file is a XSD(Xml schema definition) format file.
