Brandy grades include A.C. (aged in wooden casks for at least 2 years), VS (very special and aged for at least 3 years), VSOP (very special old pale, which has been aged for at least 5 years), XO (extra old, which has been aged for at least 6 years) and vintage, which has been aged for a longer period of time, as specified on the label. With that said I've found that Hennessey VSOP is smooth and easy on the palate. Found in most supermarkets, I would say in my opinion, this is the best supermarket brandy. Hennessey XO is even better but not available in most supermarkets unless the supermarket has a fine wine and spirits section (usually locked in a display case). Then we have the vintage and specialty brandy. The most expensive brandy I've seen is the $1,000,000 Mendis Cocount Brandy Bottle.
