I've ben prescribed to eat baker's yeast to help clear up an infection and it was a successful treatment.

Yeast from grapes is used to jump-start fermentation of fruits that have no natural yeast, when wishing to make a wine from them. The yeast breaks down the fruit's sugar into carbon dioxide gas and alcohol. And in that way I successfully produced wines from carobs, loquats, grapefruit and several other fruits (not liquors, but wines).

Not much. "quick breads" are leavened without yeast - they instead use baking powder or baking soda to produce a gas that expands the bread. If you have a recipe that calls for yeast, it will need yeast. You might want to try a different one, as long as you have baking powder on hand. Corn bread and banana bread are quick breads.
