The value of a 50 hp Mercury, or any other outboard, is largely dependant on the age of the engine.
70 horse 1985 mercury outboard
2900 euro
$250
it really depends on its condition. what do you have?
I just paid $850 for one and thats a good deal!
I would guess that this engine in mint condition would be worth at least $500.
according to the label on mine it is 7.5 at 4000rpm
K&N filters improve airflow to the engine and slightly increase horsepower. They also give the engine a deeper tone when you get hard on the throttle. Horsepower gains are from 5-10 HP depending on the car.
Depending on condition. does it have tilt and trim, are the throttle controls with etc .. between 600-1000 If in good condition. Hope this helps
Whatever you can get somebody to pay for it. It would depend on condition and how it runs. New I think I got mine for $1800 in 2009 and it was a 2008.
The difference between increasing the horsepower by advancing the timing, and advancing the timing to where it causes severe pre-ignition and engine damage is so slight it isn't worth considering. As an "increasing horsepower" idea, it is best left at the starting gate.
