Napoleon was born in CORSICA, exiled in 1814 to ELBA and in 1815 to St. HELENA. Napoleon Bonaparte was born on the island of Corsica, in the Mediterranean. The main controversy over Napoleon is if he was a friend or enemy to the French people. Napoleon's prosecutors said that he destroyed the civil liberties of the French people. They also think that he started unnecessary wars of aggression. Another argument is that he ruled above the law like a absolute monarch. People on the defending side of Napoleon say that he saved France from a near anarchic situation in France. He extended the French territory to bring glory to the French people, and the rights of the revolution to the in Europe. Also Napoleon did more to help the people than to harm them.
No. Napoleon Francis Joseph Charles (also known as Napoleon II) was the son of Napoleon and his second wife, Marie Louise of Austria. He was the first and only official son of Napoleon.
Napoleon was finally defeated at Waterloo in 1815. It was not the first battle he had lost, that was Aspern-Essling in 1809. He was also defeated at the Battle of the Nations at Leipzig in 1813 and in the France Campaign of 1814. Borodino, in Russia in 1812 was a bloodbath, and might best be described as a draw, as was Wagram in 1809. As a result of the defeat by the Austrian & Prussian Armies in 1814 Napoleon was exiled to the Island in the Mediterranean. After Waterloo when Bluchers Prussians come to the aid of Wellingtons' British & Dutch/Belgians (Many of the Dutch/Belgians had previously fought for Napoleon !) Napoleon boarded HMS Bellerephon & was Exiled to St Helena, many miles from anywhere in the Atlantic Ocean. Napoleon died there in 1821. And apart from all that he still remains as one of the greatest Generals in History. Vive L'Empereur !

Britain overcame Napoleons Continental System, this forced other less powerful states to choose sides over France or Britain and a few swayed sides towards Britain. Britain actually thrived during this time and most of Europe took a financial hit because of the laws. Britain was also a part of all of the coalitions that fought France and weakened their army enough to the point where they defeated Napoleon and exiled him. When Napoleon returned from his exile he was defeated by the coalitions again in Waterloo where he was finally exiled to St. Helena and eventually died of cancer. This all shows that not only did Britain have a role in defeating Napoleon but they were one of the main reasons he was defeated.
Napoleon 1 also called Napoleon the Great.
Napoleon Bonaparte's family was from Corsica (which was then Italy), Napoleon was also born there, and therefore was an Italian.
