After hearing about the French Revolution, Americans began to celebrate and become extremely enthusiastic. They thought that they had inspired the French to go through with the French Revolution after they gained their independence from Britain.

America had just finished its fight for freedom and did not have the resources to go to war in Europe.

They did not. They disliked the Enlightenment ideas and wanted to go back to he Old Regime.
He didn't escape. He tried to, in his flight to Varennes, but he was caught and recognized as a traitor to the French Revolution. He was guillotined when the French Republic was formed.
It's just a little before the end of the French revolution, the important part, a LOT of people were guillotined (executed), not just nobles anymore, even people who were just considered not seeing the revolution go exactly like the others planned, some were even leaders of it
