What it means to enter into Gods rest is to Be at Peace within... no matter what is taking place about us; a state of Being. To rest in God's love for us and Who HE, as the Spirit of Love, is towards us as His inheritance, is to have entered Gods Rest. To trust that motivated by love, peace, joy, righteousness, and truth, His eternal Spirit is in control and we need not fear life nor death to this body and a nature which is at war with His will, is to be empowered to enter into God's rest... His completed work ... the unfolding of HIS eternal Plan for His Creation, which was established for us before the foundation of the world, in Spirit and Truth; and which is unfolding in our day to day living as we become more and more aware of HIS abiding Presence/Goodness and who we are in relation to HIS eternal Spirit ... as eternal Beings, who are having Spiritual Experiences in human vessels; and becoming more and more aware of this as we seek to know HIS Truth and leave behind that which preconditioned us to think/fear otherwise.

We enter into Gods Rest when we become aware that our Creator, Father God has an eternal plan for humanity, which is unfolding, in His perfect timing and way and we are each taking part in it... even when we are unaware of this Spiritual Reality, which is meant to cause us to become who we are created to be as His Child of love ... one who is become more and more aware, we live and move and have our Being through His Spirit birthed within... Jesus the Christ, being the first example of this reality and comforter through an impartation of HIS Peace, through our Spiritual Union/Spiritual Identification.

When we become aware of Father's unconditional love... which cannot be earned, nor destroyed, we can rest in HIS Love and thus surrender to ALL with a KNOWING which gives us a peace which surpasses ALL understanding and the power to hear His voice/become aware of His Conscience/Consciousness within. Through such, we become aware, we don't have to 'understand', but can trust in the goodness of His transforming love for us and the goodness that is taking place through what appears to be Chaos, to our finite thinking.

We enter into God's Rest, when we recognize we do not have to struggle to do the right thing, when we turn to His Spirit/Nature/Character, within and draw upon it, (through our eternal union) and yield to that which is manifested as HIS will and transcending truth for us, (uniquely) in the moment.

There are probably a number of ways to answer this question. One such way is to point out that the word "Sabbath" means; "rest."

A comparison is made in The Bible to God's Rest through ancient Israel, because of their "unbelief" [lack of faith] being unable to "enter into the Promised Land" [a type of God's Rest].

"Moses was faithful as a servant in all God's House, testifying to what would be said in the future. But Christ is faithful as a Son over God's House... So, as the Holy Spirit says: 'TODAY, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert... That is why I was angry with that generation... So I declared on oath in My anger, 'They shall never enter MY REST.'" (Heb.3:5-11 NIV)

The comparison is laid on God's people, today [God's church], through the New Testament not to be caught displaying the same "lack of faith" that ancient Israel did, which prevented them from achieving or attaining to the coming "First Resurrection," which will occur at the time of Jesus' return to earth with the Kingdom of God.

"...See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the Living God... So we see that they were not able to enter [into God's Rest], because of their unbelief." (verses 12-19)

God's church is admonished not to suffer the same thing their ancestors did through lack of faith in Christ.

"The Lord's Rest" is "the Lord's Sabbath"... which was established on the "seventh day of creation" [see Genesis 1]: and written down for us centuries later, to have, know and understand God's plan in these last days.

"But the seventh day is THE SABBATH [rest] OF THE LORD THY GOD: in it thou shalt not do any work..." (Ex.20:10).

The Bible alludes to the "seven-day" creation week as a "7000 year" plan of God:

"...beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." (II Peter 3:8)

Further biblical reference is made to Jesus' return to earth as being a "thousand year" ['one-day'] rule of the Kingdom of God over the mortal nations of man.

"Blessed and Holy is he that hath part in the First Resurrection: on such the Second Death hath no power, but they [God's gathered saints at Jesus' return] shall be priests of God and of Christ, and SHALL REIGN WITH HIM A THOUSAND YEARS." (Rev.20:6)

[These are they who shall "enter into God's Rest."]

Contrary to the modern popular "religion ofevolution" that "believes" that man has existed for millions and billions of years on earth; man's history reveals his existence to be more in the vicinity of 6000 years [the equivalent of a biblically prophetic "6-day work week."

In this prophetic light... the biblical evidence points to "entering into God's rest" as "those who are God's elect [His saints] who [through faith] attain to the First Resurrection, entering into the "seventh day of God's plan" -- the last [seventh] thousand years -- the LORD's SABBATH -- the LORD's REST. Better known as THE LAST GREAT DAY... "Judgment Day."

Man's wicked works that he has done over the course of his allotted 6000 year [6-day] work week will be brought to a halt -- and his sins [his works] will NOT BE ALLOWED during the "Lord's Rest" [the Lord's thousand year rule on earth].

The Millennial Rule of Christ is still in man's future, and will be "God's Rest": "...the seventh day... the Sabbath [rest] of the Lord [Jesus Christ] thy God: IN IT THOU [the surviving mortal nations on earth] SHALT NOT DO ANY [more evil, sinful, wicked] WORK...".
