I earned a A.A. in Speech and Theater at a community college, however just an associate degree will not open many job opportunities. It does looks good on a resume. I'm now pursing/finishing up my degree in Theatre Education at Austin Peay State University. Once I graduate I will be able to teach in Knd through 12 grade schools.
In my opinion, discover why you want to/did study theatre. For me it was because I wanted to teach. If theatre is what you really want to earn a degree in, then you may want to earn a B.A. or B.F.A. in Theatre Education, Acting, Directing, Design, or Playwright. The B.A. or B.F.A. is more likely to get you job opportunities at regional, professional, and academic theater companies.
