In fact, Thomas Edison had more than one job. At first he sold candy and newspapers on the Grand Trunk Railroad, were he set up a chemistry lab in an empty car to conduct his experiments. He later worked as a telegraph operator. Eventuly, though, he quit to become a full time inventor.
