I know it comes in Job in the old testament. but can not find it in the new.
I would say it foreshadows that this book is going to be horrible, but the title did a sufficent job of that
To quote from the book... Ralph said... "Now go back, Piggy, and take names. That's your job. So long."
Piggy does not have a specific job in "Lord of the Flies." He serves as an intellectual and rational voice among the boys stranded on the island, using his glasses to start fires and offering ideas for survival.
In "Lord of the Flies," Jack is initially the leader of the choirboys, who later become his hunters. He takes on the role of the head of the group that prioritizes hunting and obtaining food over building shelter and maintaining the signal fire.
The phrase "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord" is from the book of Job, specifically Job 1:21. Job utters these words when he faces immense loss and suffering but maintains his faith.
