Jesus died for our sins. That was the reason he came down to earth to save us.
AnswerIndeed, it was our sins that killed Jesus. The proximate, physical cause that killed His Body was asphixiation due to Crucifixion. When a person is crucified, they are nailed, hanging on a cross. The only way that you can draw a breath is to raise yourself up, hanging with your arms out and above you contracts your chest and diaphragm and you can't draw a breath unless you raise yourself up. But to do that you have to push up on a large nail threw your feet and pull on nails through your wrists. This is the most excruciating torture - you can't even pass out from the pain. The soldiers broke the legs of the two thieves who had not died yet, with their legs broken, they were unable to raise themselves enough to breath. Jesus had already died, so his legs weren't broken. The Romans sentenced and executed Jesus Christ.

That is a wonderful question, but the Bible does not use much punctuation, so in reality, speaking of the grammar, it is suppose to be written Jesus, Christ. not Jesus Christ. As many references in the KJV of the Bible, is Christ Jesus, written correctly Christ, Jesus, or Jesus, Christ. It is referring to Christ.
