Margot Frank and Anne Frank both caught typhus epidemis that spread through Bergen-Belsen killing over 17,000 prisoners. Witnesses later testified Margot fell from her bunk in her weakened state and was killed by the shock. Margot died first in March 1945 and Anne a few days later. The camp was liberated only weeks later by the British troops.
