What are facts about Dachau concentration camps?

It was an 'average-size' concentration camp, and had some pretty horrific killing methods that matched even Auschwitz. Though it was a bit smaller compared to the other concentration camps, it got daily deliveries of enemies of the Nazis, not just Jews. Or Gypsies, disabled, or homosexuals. To some, it was known as the 'elite-reserved' concentration camp.

What purpose did the concentration camps serve?

Concentration camps served two purposes: to demoralize and dehumanize. Demoralization was accomplished by the extremely regimental daily routine of the camp. Deviating from this routine often resulted in death. Dehumanization was accomplished by surrounding inmates with death, disease, and unhygienic conditions.

How many Jews died in a day at the concentration camps?

The number of daily kill count in the concentration camps varied. Toward the end of the war it was tens of thousands a month. Many documents were burned so knowing the exact total of daily murdering is impossible. Second Answer: Contact the related link below to ask the Holocaust Museum if they know the exact amount of deaths per day at the extermination camps. I did not find any record of a daily count but they would know if there is a record.

Are there still concentration camps today?

yes, till this day there are concentration camps in north Korea. They have several locations all over their country. There they keep prisoners of war, traitors, families of traitors and people who opposed or questioned their country or leader. there people are starved, shot, and beat to death on a daily basis for looking for scraps of food, looking at guards or just not working fast enough. there hundreds people die every day. this just one of many ways they keep a strong hold on their people.

How many Jews did they burn a day in concentration camps?

None. The burning was the cremation of corpses. There were many methods of killing Jews, burning to death was not one of them. There were of course isolated incidents of people dying in this way, but it was not a daily occurrence.

Did people who worked in concentration camps live near there?

Most people who "worked" in the concentration camps lived (if you can call it living) in the camp. People were shipped all across Europe to different camps. Sometimes they could be close to where they used to live, but more often than not they would simple be shipped like cattle to a camp that needed work. Where they would normally live out their remaining weeks/months/years and die a horrible death. Hope this helps you out. Was slightly confused by the question itself. Wasn't sure if you meant did they use to live close to the camp or if they were shipped in daily.
