Usually, in hospitals, scrubs are only one color and the color signifies what kind of staff the person is: nurse, doctor, janitor, cook, etc. Nurses at private practices or clinics often wear scrubs that are decorated with some sort of pattern but do not symbolize anything, although, in some places, it may symbolize the level that the nurse is. Doctors at private practices generally do not wear scrubs; they may or may not even wear their white coat, though.
