dex-cool coolant is used in most 3.1 engines,
Best thing to do is but the universal coolant, it can be used in all vehicles.
Non-phosphate, non-silicate coolant. In the US, that means either DexCool type coolants, which have a reputation for destroying certain plastics, or BMW branded antifreeze, at $22 a gallon. If you are in Europe, you have some other options. I read that the the BMW brand is made by BASF, which I can't find here in the colonies.
It should be listed in your owners manual. For 1995 GM vehicles used regular green coolant that was ethylene glycol based. Starting in 1996, however, they switched over to a newer coolant called Dex Cool. It has a reddish-orange appearance and is a longer interval coolant. The 1995 still used the old standard green coolant that many vehicles used in that time period.
the red coolant. the pink coolant is used for newer model.
You can use the standard coolant (green in color). 50/50 mix pre-diluted should be fine. Honda does have their own brand of coolant if you wish to go that route. If you dilute the coolant yourself make sure you use distilled water to avoid deposits.
There should be a tag on the underside of your hood, passenger side, referring to the type of coolant as well as the quantity. My 1999 uses r-34 which is typical for newer cars.
