A quilter does not need any formal degree. A quilter simply learns to quilt by taking classes, learning from quilting books and/or patterns, or by observing another more experienced quilter. A formal degree would be needed only if the quilter intends to teach in a school or college, in which case a bachelor's degree would be needed, possibly in art education or textile arts.
