Mechanical energy is the energy of moving objects, such as the energy that you use when you physically move something with your hand. Obviously, movement is a form of change, it constitutes a change of location or position. Often there is a change of momentum involved as well (as for example when you throw something).
Energy does not cause motion.
Energy is just the property that something in motionhas. The best definition of energy that I can think of is:"the capacity to do work". Work can be thought of as something that you need to do to transfer your energy in your muscles into kinetic energy for the object. And so energy does not cause motion. It is the transfer of energy into an object so that it has kinetic energy, that causes the motion.
N.B.: What does cause motion then? Newton said that it was FORCE.
Energy can be transferred from one thing to another. This causes changes.
This can involve changing the shape of matter, or changing the speed or direction of an object.
it causes change when burned, lit, set of, and breaks
It means something or somewhere is distant in space or time.
it has forms
NO
it does not
tempeture
sound
Any form of energy can be turned into another form.
electrical energy
Energy transformation
chemical potential energy (in the fuel being burned) to heat (thermal) energy and a little light energy.
Entropy
Yes, energy is the capacity or ability to do work or cause change. It comes in various forms such as kinetic, potential, thermal, and electromagnetic energy.
Kinetic Energy. Kind of like heat.
Energy...
Chemical energy can change into just about any other type of energy.
sound
Any form of energy can be turned into another form.
there are different types
