Answer 1
I am an Arab myself. We eat plenty of cereal products and meats. Cereal products: BREAD (a lot) couscous, rice. For meat, it's mostly lamb, but as time passes by, people start to change. We still eat beef, chicken, and turkey but no pork. Arabs in Arab countries don't eat pork. (even if they are Non-Muslim, because its hard to find pork in an Arab country.) However, Arab Non-Muslims outside of Arab countries do eat pork if they want to, as it is much easier to find. We also use lots of yogurt, like on rice and meat and chickpeas (garbanzo beans) in MANY dishes such as couscous, rice, and hummus.

Answer 2
Before answering this question, it is important to note that Arabs do not "believe in" food. Food has no mystical powers in Arab culture nor is it venerated as some sort of divinity or spirit. The overwhelming majority of Arabs are either monotheists or atheists.

In terms of what Arabs eat, Arabs use wheat breads, couscous, barley, and rice as starch bases. Fruits, beans, and nuts (like dates, apricots, apples, olives, chickpeas, lentils, pistachios, almonds, walnuts etc.) figure prominently in Arab cuisine are often used to sweeten and flavor the various starches. Since meat and seafood became more common, Arabs tend to eat lamb, chicken, numerous varieties of fishes and shellfish.

Probably the most base food of the Arab World would be bread, but almost no Arab eats bread exclusively.

The most common food in Egypt is "Ful" (فول) which is crushed fava beans. It has a similar appearance to humus, a similar consistency to mortar, and is eaten with bread or rice. Egyptians also eat a variety of kebabs, typical Levantine humus, pita, and baba ghanouj, moussaka, pastilla, dolma, tahina salad, shwarma, and seafood along the Mediterranean coast.
