For the upper class, they had a little bit easier and were able to bathe roughly once every couple of weeks. Because our bodies weren't designed to not be doing physical work and to have plenty of food at all times. Way back when people had to go hunt and food wasn't plentiful, our bodies were designed to store extra food in times of plenty, so that we wouldn't starve when times weren't so plentiful.
