I'm not positive I understand the phrase "what type of force". There are different kinds of energy (kinetiic, potential, chemical), but force is force.
Newtons or Pounds... Newtons is more common.
They use newtons because they are the International System of unit used to measure to measure force.
Newtons (N)
The pound.force, or in the SI system the Newton (1 pound.force = 4.48 Newtons)
If by N you mean Newtons, then the formula to use would be Force=mass x acceleration. Newtons is the unit of measurement for force
Newtons are a unit of force. They are used in all sort of physics calculations.
Newtons (N) or Pounds (lbs)
Use bathroom scales, multiply kg * 9.82 = newtons.
The standard (SI) unit for force is the newton. Non-standard units include pounds-force (that is, the force exerted by a mass of 1 pound under normal gravity), kilogram-force (same idea), and others.
Newtons. A newton (N) is the force required to accelerate a mass of one kilogram one meter per second per second. If you held a lump of metal of mass 100g (about 3 1/2 ounces) then gravity would pull on it with a force of about 1 newton. Forces can be measured with a newtonometer - a device with a spring in it, that is compressed when a force is applied and a needle attached to the spring moves on a scale..
9.80665 Newton = 1 kilogram force = 2.20462 pound force 38.21752031 pound force x 9.80665 Newton/2.20462 pound force = 170 N you may try using the online converter linked below next time
Newtons is a unit of measuring force and is not to be confused with measuring mass. Another unit of measuring force is pounds. Newtons are often used as they are the SI unit of force.
