I can't think of a groundcover that would be easily raked. The rake is going to catch in almost any groundcover. You could use a leaf blower to get the leaves blown out of the area with the groundcover and then rake them up. I have to do this on the side of our house because of the groundcover. I recommend either English Ivy or Periwinkle ( Vinca ). Either will grow quickly and are hardy. Both plants can be propagated easily by division. Simply dig the groundcover by the roots and transplant it wherever you want.

Safety Idea for Above Ground Pool Decks ?

Many people don't like the appearance of an above ground pool, but in-ground pools aren't always an option. To improve the look of the pool, you can build a deck around it. The deck can reach the height of the pool walls; this can effectively camouflage the pool. One thing to remember is that the deck will probably be exposed to water constantly, so to prevent falls, finish the deck with a non-slip coating.

Build On Dirt?

When you build a deck that is on ground level, you need to build up the ground with dirt so that it has a space for water to drain. You don't want to make a deck flat on the ground or the air won't circulate through the boards of the deck and you may stay warm in the summer while you are sitting on your deck.
