The atmosphere on mars is very thin it contains Carbon dioxide, nitrogen and argon.
carbon dioxide
The energy comes out in the form of heat, which arises from the formation of chemical bonds between carbon in the fuel and oxygen from the atmosphere. The inescapable byproduct is carbon dioxide, which is dumped into the atmosphere.
the organism releases carbon dioxide as a waste, as an extra from creating energy it can use.
The atmosphere of Mars is mostly comprised of carbon dioxide. There are also trace amounts of argon, nitrogen and oxygen.
Mars has a very thin atmosphere composed mainly of carbon dioxide with traces of nitrogen and argon. It lacks a protective ozone layer, and the atmospheric pressure is about 1% of Earth's. The thin atmosphere contributes to the planet's cold temperatures and makes it unable to support liquid water on its surface.
Resource industries
Certain plants are nitrogen fixers. Alfalfa is one.
I have heard them using carbon paper to remove particles out of tap water. I'm unsure if they use them to remove chlorine though. Hope this helps.
It has a depressing Atmosphere
Today there is no viable method for capturing carbon dioxie (or any other kind of exhaust gas) from an automobile. The available technologies are only usable on "large point sources", such as industries with large amounts of carbon dioxide emissions.
