Skeletal muscles attach to our bones, and allow us to move. They are controlled by our voluntary nervous system. In certain situations, they also facilitate with the circulation of our blood, especially in our legs when we walk.

There are three types of muscles. Cardiac, smooth, and skeletal muscle. Skeletal muscles are the only ones you can voluntarily control.

They are striated because striated means kind of stripey and the muscles has stripes of muscle itself.
