You can plug US appliances into plug sockets in the US. You can also plug them into sockets in Mexico, Canada and several other countries that use 110 to 120 volts mains electricity.
The Vita's charger comes in the box. It is in two parts - one with a mains plug and adaptor, the other has a USB plug and one to fit into the Vita. You can use the latter to charge directly from a PC, or both together to charge from the mains.

To charge a Ipod touch, you need a little plug that comes with it, you plug this plug into your PC and attach your ipod to the other end. You can also charge a Ipod by bying a mains charger. Thats what I use! Hope I helped :D
On a UK three pin plug the two smaller prongs are Live (brown) and Neutral (blue). The Larger pin is for the Earth wire. This can prevent you getting an electric shock
Most UK 3 pin power plugs are fixed to the appliance cable at the factory. It is often possible to cut off the plug and adapt it to some other use, but it is better and safer to buy a new plug (which is fairly cheap) that is designed to be manually attached to a new cable.
