About anything it wants. There are "pops" orchestras that do mainly show tunes and the lighter classics. Other orchestra groups concentrate on specific composers. The Glenn Miller Orchestra plays music from the swing era. So, there is no one single type of music that the orchestra at large can't play at any given time.
Orchestras play in various different locations such as... band stands, theaters, outdoor, on the streets. Or in places associated with theater plays/ performances. They frequently play in "Concert Halls"
