My 1998 Chevy Prism has 253,000 miles on it without any engine problems. I used to use synthetic castrol 10w30 until synthetic prices went up but recently have just been using castrol 10w30. I think the manual calls for 5w30. I change my oil every five thousand miles via Walmart n have them rotate the tires at the same time. 253k miles down another 750k to go!
5w30
10w30
10w30.
Assuming you are speaking of engine / motor oil should specify on the oil filler cap, should be 5W 30
To change the oil in a 1998 Chevy Prism you must first remove the oil plug from the oil pan under the vehicle. Allow all oil to drain out. Remove the old oil filter and replace with a new filter. Replace the oil plug in the oil pan. Refill the engine with clean oil as recommended without over filling.
Mobil 1 synthetic.
a tad under 4 quarts. about 3.7 quarts
The kind that you put in it
I just changed oil on my sister-in-law's '02 Prizm. It took a 15mm.
A quality filter such as AC/Delco is the filter your should use.
Look in your owners manual but usually 5w-30.
10w30 in most climates should do fine.
