Supernatural outbreaks are supposedly caused by overpopulation in hell which has led the souls of the damned to reanimate dead corpses. This overpopulation has been brought about by humanities need to disregard heaven and god thus resulting in a one way ticket to hell. The chances of this kind of outbreak is likely little to none. However the other type of outbreak is more possible than we would like to beleive.In the world we live in, people are constantly using antibiotics to kill off viruses in their bodies. This rampant antibiotic use has led to the creation of superstrain viruses. In Left 4 Dead, one such example is the superstrain of the rabies virus that infects humans turning them into wild man eating creatures. This super rabies example is the most likely to occur because the host isn't dead, just infected with rabies. Another example is provided by the Resident Evil video game series. In the Resident Evil games, a pharmaceutical company known as the Umbrella Corporation creates a zombie virus as a biological weapon. While the chances of a zombie outbreak are still slim, viral zombie outbreak is an ever growing possibility as more and more super viruses and biological weapons are created and used.So, the final answer to your question about will there ever be a zombie outbreak, is a BIG maybe...
