Mr. Tom was described as an elderly man with a rugged appearance, gray hair, and kind eyes in the novel "Goodnight Mister Tom" by Michelle Magorian. At the beginning of the story, he appears withdrawn and solemn, but as the plot progresses, his demeanor softens as he forms a special bond with a young evacuee named Willie.

It depends on what kind of shows you or your child like. Mister Maker is a UK show (I think) where Mister Maker makes clever pieces of artwork. It will give your child some clever yet messy ideas for pieces of artwork. I wouldn't reccomened it if you don't like a bit of mess but otherwise it is an ok show.
I have never heard the term "hombr" but "hombre" means man, sir, mister, that kind of thing.
