I live in Golden Valley and I too found a black spider. It has the shape of a common house funnel type spider or even a grass spider. To me it looks really skinny. I just cannot get over black (charcoal) color it is all over.
it is a black widow. it is all black becausse only female black widows have the red mark on their back. this means that is a male black widow.
well the closest spider that i can thinkin of is the "black widdow" a female 1 cause the male are well pretty tini and i think they have anothe collor

A kind of spider that has a back that looks like a skull with lime green legs and a white back could be a Golden Silk Spider. The skull is clearly marked on a Golden Silk Spider.
The American Black Widow should have nothing upon its back but the black color it is. Specfically, the hour glass is on the belly of the spider.
Could be the arrowhead spider.
a red back looks almost the same. But doesnt have an hourglass shape. It has a red stripe on top of its abdomen.
