Rough hair coat, increased appetite without showing any sign of gaining weight, appearing to loose weight, those sort of things. "Having worms" could mean different parasites are infecting the cows; be they external or internal.

Rough hair coat, appearing thinner than usual, less thrifty, etc. Usually you shouldn't rely on the signs that a cow needs worming so much as a schedule of when you should worm cattle. Cattle should be wormed twice a year, no matter if they are showing signs of needing to be dewormed or not.
