In my opinon: Witches (in the magical context) don't exist. What I mean with that is witches like the ones you see in movies. And if someone says they are a witch (in the magical context) they are lying. Quite easy to be honest. So they will not be able to curse you or anyone else...unless you believe in what they do; in which case anything will look like it was caused by a curse or "magical incantaion" etc.
If anything, a 'witch' is someone who has a vast knowledge on herbs and remedies like the person above wrote but I just wanted to clarify that the only way a 'witch' can harm you is if you 1. believe in magical nonsense and 2. if they somehow manage to poison or influence you in some kind of way with a herb.
