what type automatic transmission fluid for Allison at 545 ? I would suggest using Allison Transynd, "synthetic fluid" allisontech
these transmissoins will not interchange. To be sure I would call a salvage yard and ask them; they have a HOLLANDER exchange and they can tell you for sure.
You can locate the transmission fluid leak on your 2001 Chevy Metro by looking at the transmission fluid on the ground. Look above the transmission fluid stain and you should be able to see the source of the leak.
I would guess about six quarts...
The front seal on your automatic transmission would be between the torque converter and the front pump of the transmission. The transmission would have to be removed along with the torque converter to replace the seal.
find someone with a fluid evacuater or remove the transmission pan.
That would be the 4L60E transmission.
I would cahange it at 50,000 miles.
