What kind of plants compete for water? Its depends where that plant is growing, If it is growing next to a tree or An animals habitat they will not get the amount of water they need. But if there by its self in a little area and has good soil then it will grow all good.

Only pond water, the kind with all the fish goldfish is very good for desmids the skin that rubs off of fish is great for the desmids.

In a stone cistern. Kind of a problem, no? Plastic jugs are good for awhile, but eventually leak. Metal canisters are also good for awhile, but slowly rust or leach metals into the water. Good luck!
