Transverse wave
Water waves are a type of mechanical waves that travel through water. They differ from other types of waves, such as electromagnetic waves, in that they require a medium, like water, to propagate. Water waves are caused by the disturbance of the water's surface, while electromagnetic waves do not require a medium and can travel through a vacuum.
Water is not a wave. Waves on a water surface, on the other hand, do indeed have similarities with other types of waves in physics, including radio waves.
Transverse waves can be polarized. This includes electromagnetic waves such as light, as well as other types of waves like water waves and seismic waves. Longitudinal waves, on the other hand, cannot be polarized.
All types of waves vibrate as they transport energy without transporting matter. Examples include light waves, sound waves, and water waves. The vibration of the waves determines their frequency and wavelength.
Most waves that travel through a substance are mechanical waves. These waves require a medium (such as water, air, or solids) to propagate. Sound waves, seismic waves, and ocean waves are examples of mechanical waves.

They can, kind of. The sound waves kind of vibrate the water or something like that, so instead of hearing it, they feel it.
Water waves are formed by the force of the wind agianst the water and air goes forward and finally develops a circular motion. This motion causes a pressure to go down on the surface at its front, and pressure going up and this causes the surface to take on the form of a wave.
Mechanical waves, such as sound waves and water waves, require a medium (solid, liquid, or gas) to travel through. Electromagnetic waves, like light and radio waves, do not require a medium and can travel through a vacuum.
