Real ethics.
Ethics are a kind of unwritten rules of conduct. It is important to have good work ethics not just for your clientele, but also for your employees. Your work ethics purvey a certain amount of professionalism that says your business means to be efficient and successful. I think it's important to have a good balance though. Having too much professionalism loses some of the personal aspects that can be just as important.
Please be more specific with your question. The ethics exercised in police work are the same as ethics in any other line of work.

Most work and training ethics are the same or similar. Starting early with a good sense of work ethics during your training is always the best way to go.

Without any kind of values or ethics, you will not get far in any career. People value honesty, hard work and truth. Shady business dealings or a shady character will eventually be found out.
Businesses operates in free markets.. Business is for profit and ethics is work for others. When you work for others than you can't generate profit. This argument supports the myth business and ethics do not mix.
A person need to study work ethics so that they can work in the business community well and succeed. If a person does not have some form of work ethic, they will not be able to keep a job.
Work ethic is the belief in the moral value of hard work.
