When a substance undergoes a chemical reaction, it is actually sharing electrons with other substances creating new molecular bonds. The exact change depends on the substances involved ie. acids mixed with bases will usually create heat and salts, while rapid oxidation (fire) will create heat and light.

How is a chemical property different from a physical property?

Chemical properties describe how a substance will undergo chemical reactions and with what. Chemical changes are when one or more substances change to some other substance or substances.

What is the meaning of chemistrey?

In science: Chemistry is the identification of substances that matter is composed of such as chemical compounds. It is the study of chemical reactions, changes, interactions, and processes. In People: Chemistry is the psychological interaction or complexity of emotions between two or more people.

In terms of chemical bonds and electrons what kinds of changes occur between atoms when substances undergo chemical reactions?

Bonds are broken by rearrangement of electrons, and then new bonds are made, again by rearrangement (sharing, donating, etc) of electrons.

How would you describe chemicals?

A chemical substance is a material with a specific chemical composition. Generally, chemical substances exist as a solid, liquid, gas, or plasma and may change between these phases of matter with changes in temperature or pressure. Chemical reactions convert one chemical substance into another.

What is chysical change?

Chemical changes occur when a substance combines with another to form a new substance, called chemical synthesis or, alternatively, chemical decomposition into two or more different substances. These processes are called chemical reactions and, in general, are not reversible except by further chemical reactions.

Chemical reactions always involve changes in a chemical?

There will always be changes in one of the reactants. In some chemical reactions, one of the chemicals works as a catalyst to encourage a reaction between two or more chemicals but does not change during the reaction.
