Foam spray extinguishers are not recommended for fires involving electricity, but are safer than water if inadvertently sprayed onto live electrical apparatus.
A fire extinguisher should only be used for house fires such as the kitchen catching on fire. You should never use water to put out fire if it is an oil fire it would spread the fire quickly and staining whatever the fire caught on.
normal fire which does not have green colored sparks coming from it otherwise it will take to whole fire extinguishers to put it out because it has 3/4 of carbon dioxide in it whilst fires with no green sparks are likely easier to put out because it has a only a 2.6/4 of carbon dioxide in it.

Foam fire extinguishers can be used on Class A & B fires. A Class A fire is a solid fire, such as paper, wood or plastic. A Class B fire is flammable liquids, such as petrol and oil. It is not recommended to use foam on electrical fires.
