The kinds of food that the Chippewa Indians ate were the foods that they could find in their surroundings. They had a variety of nuts, and berries. They gathered these items and preserved them so they could have food throughout the year.
Ojibwa(Chippewas)bands lived in different environments, so they did not eat all the same foods. woodland Chippewa's were mostly farming people , harvesting wild rice and corn , fishing , hunting small game , and gathering nuts and fruit. The plains Ojibwa were big game hunters , and buffalo meat made up most of there diet... rice and fish were a major clan!!! :)
