Many Japanese recipes involve saute and boiling not as much as deep frying compare to the U.S. They eat many different type of little dish so usually for dinner there will be many plates all over the table. Such as rice, miso soup, soy sauce plate, flavored saute or raw vegetable, grilled fish (or seafood), meat dish, pickles, so on and on.
