Leonard Bernstein(1918-90) was an American born Composer, Conductor, and Educator. Among his many accomplishments he wrote Musicals, Symphonies, Ballets, Film-scores, and also for the Stage. He gained fame as the conductor of the New York Philharmonic orchestra, he conducted for famous Orchestras all over the world. Bernstein wrote the music of Oscar winning films such as the 1961 musical "West Side Story", "On the Town" and "Candide" and "On the Waterfront" in 1954.
As one of the most successful American musician he was a thorough Pianist, and as a composer wrote many different types of Music from Broadway plays to symphonies. He was included into the "Songwriters Hall of Fame" in 1972.
