There is lots of sunlight and very little water in the Mountains and Basins region. There for the plants that live in the region are adopated to live in harsh environments. Like cactus plants don't need alot of water and they store water in there stems. Other plants like small flowers live under the shade of large rocks. And plants like ferns have long roots to go deep under ground to collect water. Another plant is the mesquite. A mesquite is a tree-like bush with long roots.
