This is entirely up to the convenience of the user. Medical tradition has blood pressure measured in millimetres of Mercury, for this is a comfortable unit to the practitioners.
In diving, one would use ft or m as one wished.
note. In Aviation, heights are expressed in ft and thousands of ft, as an international standard; whilst distances are expressed in miles.
This mix of units ensures that the two numbers do not get confused.
Until recently, much surveying was done in ft and decimals of a ft for heights, and chains and links for horizontal distances.
Modern survey practice in SI has these both in metres.
The total pressure of a mixture of gases is the sum of partial pressures of contained gases.

"Cubic inches" and "inches" are completely different units. They're used to measure different kinds of quantities, and you can't convert one to the other. It's just like trying to convert inches into minutes.

There are various kinds of league, but the structure would be similar. To take a model based on a soccer league, you would do it like this. You would have a column for the teams, a column for the amount of games played, a column for wins, a column for draws, a column losses, a column for goals scored, a column for goals conceded, a column for goal difference and a column for points. Some of those columns would have formulas, most importantly the points column. Based on a win being 3 points and a draw being one point, it would have a formula to multiply the wins by 3 and add the draws to get the total points. The column for goal difference would be the amount of goals scored, minus the amount of goals conceded. Any one of the columns for wins, draws and losses could be calculated by subtracting the other two from the amount of games played. The table would be sorted by points in descending order and having goal difference as a secondary sort column, to differentiate teams with the same points.
You can't convert inches to square inches any more than you can convert buckets to watts. They're not different ways of measuring the same thing (feet and meters are both length units), they're ways of measuring different kinds of things (length as opposed to area).
