The Bayeux tapestry, was the tapestry created by English slaves after the battle of Hastings.The battle is shown/told through the eyes of William of Normandy/William the conqueror.It shows king Harold's name above a picture of a soldier with an arrow through his eye. It is believed that this is how King Harold died.
King Harold; some say he got an arrow in the eye, others say he was trampled by aNorman knight and some say he was disemboweled, beheaded and killed by 4 knights. This is shown in the Bayeux Tapestry and above it in Latin it says "King Harold is killed". However, to this day nobody really knows how he died.

As mentioned above, Aubusson tapestries are from the city of Aubusson, France where tapestries have been made since the late 1500's. Many of the tapestries that came from this region depicted scenes of the local landscape as well as hunting scenes and floral arrangements.
A tapestry can be either a woven cloth or a canvas stiched in a diagonal stitch. Tapastrys are decorative and normally contain a picture. Tapastrys were traditionally wall hangings but are now more often placed behind glass or turned into cushions.
